What I love about the location of SIU School of Law is that it's this cozy, wonderful retreat, where you can study without distraction, but it is close to whatever you need to do.
The university is a central focal point for all of Southern Illinois. I believe drawing in people from all over the world to study here to teach here.
We have a great Student Rec Center here on campus and many of our law students do take advantage of it. There are, you know, Olympic-sized swimming pools that our swim teams use that are available for students to use as well. All kinds of gyms. There are rec leagues for basketball that our law students participate in. There are squash courts, you know, running tracks, yoga classes, all kinds of things at the Rec Center.
The Student Health Center actually offers a variety of different services including counseling services. They have a pharmacy within the health center. They have animal therapy, as well.
SIU has a group of offices that are resource centers for different communities. So we have a Latino Resource Center, we have an LGBTQ Resource Center, we have a Women's Resource Center, we have an African American Resource Center. And all of those are staffed by people who focus on bringing attention to those issues and providing support for members of those various diverse communities.
The Southern Illinois University School of Law is a part of the SIU system. And the system is committed to being an anti-racist campus. And each of the campuses are committed to ensuring that we have programs in place so that wherever you're from and no matter your nationality, your sexual identity, your sexual orientation, your race, your gender, whether you're a first-generation student, whether you're from a rural population or an urban center, we want to make sure that you are valued on this campus.
