To seek career advisement, students can visit our Career Services Office. Students are definitely encouraged to schedule one-on-one meetings. That's definitely one of the perks of coming to a smaller law school is having that close-knit bond with all of the faculty and staff here and it definitely helps in Career Services. You're getting that career advice right off the bat as soon as you start law school.
The Career Services Office has a variety of ways that we help students look for jobs and get jobs. First and foremost, we have what's called our "CORE page," which is a page where we post jobs that people have sent to us to try to recruit law students or alumni.
We also do workshops throughout the year and individual appointments, where we can speak to students in regards to their cover letters or resumes. Right now, the job market is spectacular. If you're a law student, we have plenty of jobs in the job market, especially in the Midwest area, because the SIU student is generally a student that is ready to go practice as soon as they graduate.
